A statement from the United DC team
We lost our data centre. We did not stop.
On 23 September 2026 at 11:50, the United DC data centre building was hit by a strike. The data centre we had built and run since 2001 was effectively destroyed.
What we did
We had been preparing to host in Europe for a long time — as a fallback we hoped never to switch on this way. After the strike we put that plan into action on an emergency basis.
- The equipment we were able to save is being moved urgently to new sites in Europe.
- Our European capacity has been brought into operation. It is what we now offer our customers.
- Our site in Ukraine is not operating. Restoring it under current conditions is not safe, and we will not do so until the situation changes.
What this means for you
United Cloud is the same United DC team, on infrastructure in Europe. Our main location is Poland — the closest to Ukraine in response time. Where needed, we also host servers in other European countries.
We have seen first-hand what infrastructure within reach of shelling is worth. Our conclusion is simple: the data and services a company depends on should be where a strike cannot reach them, with a backup copy somewhere else. That is how we now build everything we offer.
If you are a United DC customer
Get in touch — we will tell you the status of your equipment and suggest the fastest way to get you running again.
Thank you
To our customers and partners — for your support and patience over these weeks. We have worked for you since 2001, and we will keep doing so.
The United DC team
Who we are: a quarter of a century alongside the Ukrainian internet
The United DC team has been in telecommunications since 2001. We started with fibre internet access for Kyiv businesses, got our own autonomous system in 2002 and in 2003 built our first data centre — in the very centre where Ukrainian providers interconnect.
In 2013 we opened United DC, a commercial Tier III data centre designed to the TIA-942 standard: 144 racks, two independent one-megawatt power feeds, doubly redundant uninterruptible power, diesel generators with fuel for four days, and direct free cooling — one of the first in Ukraine at industrial scale. We tested it by cutting the power in front of journalists, and it kept running. Six months after launch its first module was full; by 2025 the data centre was 90 % full.
Over the years United DC became the largest site in Kyiv where telecom operators interconnect: fibre rings to the main exchange nodes, direct ports at UA-IX and DTEL-IX, and two round-the-clock support shifts.
That experience — two decades of running our own data centres — is what we brought into United Cloud. Only the geography changed: the servers now stand in Europe, out of reach of strikes, while the team and its approach to reliability are the same.
